Alex and Olyvia-The Ivy House Wedding, Milwaukee, WI

The best man said it best during his speech, “The only thing hotter than this weather is the love that Alex and Olyvia have for each other.” Their wedding day had to be the hottest day on record in my career thus far! Let me tell you-they were both troopers and didn’t let a heat wave ruin their big day. Everything surrounding them was absolute perfection. The flowers, the venue, and their loved ones supporting them was everything they had hoped for.

I love watching Alex and Olyvia on social media and witnessing all of the fun that they have with each other. Their smiles when together say a thousand words to the love that they share! Congratulations, again, to the both of you!

Kevin and Cassi- South Second, Milwaukee WI Wedding

Kevin and Cassi are such a fun couple. The love that they have for each other is easily noticed in all of their laughs, looks, and kisses. This celebration of their commitment was a perfect time of reflection for their loved ones. They already had a quick ceremony a few months back and decided to do a vow renewal in front of all the people that care so much about them.

We started their day by heading to Carol University, where these two first met in college. After all of their years there and memories built, they knew that it would have to have a part in their day. Afterwards, we had plenty of time to go by the lakefront, the swing park, and an abandoned building. The numerous locations gave us all several different looks. It was such a treat to have the time to have some fun with pictures. Once we got to the beautiful South Second venue, the ceremony and the party were absolutely perfect. It was just the day they had been waiting for.

Kevin and Cassi – I can’t wait to watch what next step this adventure brings for you both. I know you guys have great things coming your way!!

Jessica and Jim- Wales, WI Wedding

This beautiful bride and I go WAY back. I first met Jessica when I thought Dental Hygiene school was the path I wanted to go. I went through all my classes before clinical and befriended her. She was so nice, determined, and smart. I knew she would be the perfect dental hygienist. Before I got into clinicals, I decided that it wasn’t for me and thats when I took the leap of faith of photography. We did lose touch but always stayed friends on social media. Many years later I noticed her in a relationship where she looked unbelievably happy.

Once she got engaged to Jim, she reached out almost immediately and asked if I could capture their big day. I was so happy I was still open and I of course said YES! They had their wedding at the new and gorgeous venue in Wales, WI. Fete of Wales is stunning! I really was in photographer heaven the entire time. It really lets couples enjoy their day without worrying about photo options.

Jim and Jessica, thank you for letting my husband and I document this moment for you! We really did have the best time creating some memories that will live on forever!

Derreck and Aimee-Waukesha, WI Wedding

This groom and I go way back to when he played baseball with my little brother as kids. Derreck has to be one of the nicest guys I know. The years have flown by but he remains the sweet, big personality that he’s always been. The way he loves and talks about his family and friends is so very special. When he contacted me to meet with his new fiancé, Aimee, I knew she would be one incredible woman. When we met up, their smiles were contagious! They beamed with love for each other.

Derreck and Aimee’s big day arrived and started off with monster storms. Luckily, they missed us completely and made for a perfect day. These two were surrounded by so much love and support, it was truly perfection.

To the new Mr. and Mrs. Krause, I am so grateful to have been a part of your big day. I know that great things await you in your future. Congratulations!

Katie and Chad – Delafield Hotel Wedding

Katie and Chad and I met a few years back while I was working one of Chad’s oldest friends wedding. Once they got engaged they contact me to share their exciting news. We met for a drink to discus their vision of what they wanted for their big day. I knew almost right away we would get along and their wedding would be something amazing.

The wedding itself was held at the church where Chad had grown up. Once the ceremony was over we made our way to the Historic Third Ward where endless pictures options are. The wedding party rocked it and you can tell how much they meant to the new Mr. and Mrs. We then headed to the charming Delafield Hotel where the party was happening. The food and old fashioneds were flowing, along with the dance floor.

Katie and Chad- Thank you for allowing me to be there throughout the entire time. You guys are so special and I can’t wait to see where the future will take you!

Emily and Tom-Downtown Chicago Wedding

Emily and Tom had one of the most beautiful April Chicago weddings this year, and if you have been around the area you know that was a rare thing. The day definitely represented their relationship. It was the perfect way to start their marriage. Their ceremony was in the most beautiful cathedral that means the world to them and their family.

Emily wore a stunning and classic ballgown while Tom had the best looking tuxedo on. Those two definitely made the city look good! A musician was playing for the public that seemed to sing for these two and had the celebration going. Once all of the pictures were done, we headed to Galleria Marchetti where their stunning reception was set up and ready for their guests. With the set up with a live band, I knew this was going to be a one fun party.

These two are such a beautiful couple who has God leading their way. I know they will have great things in their future.

Mavric and Kylie – Jamaica Wedding

I had the pleasure of hopping on a plane to head to Jamaica for the perfect tropical destination-wedding for Mavric and Kylie. They contacted me last winter and asked me to make the trip with them. How could I say no?! I worked with Mav a few years back when he was a groomsmen at another wedding that I photographed. I’m always flattered when a couple meets me at another wedding and hires me down the road for their own! I was beyond excited to be on “island time” and enjoy the love and joy that Jamaica offers. The thing that I loved most about this type of wedding was how everyone acted together. We really felt part of this group. The day was a tad warm….ok…it was extremely humid and hot hot hot. But that didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the love of this couple! Every single person that made the trip meant the world to the bride and groom. All the stories that were shared allowed everyone to get to know how Mav and Kylie are together and how this true love story will continue forever.

Thank you for this couple for asking me to be there with them! I really felt like I was your close friend that happened to have a nice camera. I wish you guys hadn’t moved to Colorado! But I know we will get together in the near future and it will be like no time has passed!!! I wish you both a world full of marvelous things!

Ashley and Brad- Downtown Milwaukee Wedding

I met this crazy, beautiful bride about four years ago when she was dancing as a Diamond Dancer with one of my best friends. We all got to know each other and decided to run a half marathon together! It was an amazing experience to share and left me feeling very accomplished! A few years later, I was the photographer at our friend Ally’s wedding where Ashley was the Maid of Honor. Ally (the bride of the time) plotted to set up Ashley with Brad (the groom’s cousin). No one would have guessed that the couple would stick! Ashley and Brad hit it off and are now best friends. It’s easy to feel the love that they have for each other. When Ashley and Brad’s big day came, it was even better than they had planned for. The amount of family and friends that showed up and helped celebrate the newlyweds was truly amazing. These two clearly touch the hearts of many!

Ashley and Brad- I know you guys are going to go many places and build wonderful memories together! I really cant wait to see where you guys go!Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your “beginning!”

Nikki and Josh-Lake Geneva WI Wedding

Let me start this blog off by admitting that I know a lot more about this bride than most of my other brides! Nikki and I met on the first day of first grade and were in the same class together until we went our separate ways in high school. We have many great memories together including sleepovers, volleyball, and even toilet papering a few houses (my dad’s idea FYI). After school, we went our separate ways. When Nikki contacted me to tell me that she was engaged and wanted me to capture their big day from behind the lens, I was ecstatic! Nikki and Josh are the absolute perfect, goofy couple.

Their wedding was intimate and classic. I have never seen Nikki so elegant and beautiful! Her dress reminded me of old Hollywood. Their venue was the Maxwell Mansion in Lake Geneva, which is one of my favorites in the area. It’s a small but stunning mansion with beautiful details and character everywhere you look….the perfect setting for the smaller wedding they were going for. It’s crazy how time flies and moments like these make me happy that I have a career that allows me to connect with old friends for the big moments in their lives!

Nikki and Josh- Thank you for being the sweetest and goofiest couple! It was a joy to show you the “working Kim” instead of the “awkward Kim” that you know and love! 🙂 Congrats on your big day! I couldn’t be happier for the both of you!
